“So many Christmas songs…so little time.”
#10 – O Come All Ye Faithful
Hope is waiting on the other side of your push to keep going!
It was hard choosing a song for today (my 12 days are almost over, and my list is still a mile long). But, it seems like everything takes a little more effort these days, despite the convenience of technology.
It is amazing how, in just a few months, we have accepted a new normal. We have accepted an unpredictable way of dealing with work, school, and social activities, and for the most part, we are making the best of it – but sometimes it just takes a little more of a push in our hearts to do so.
Eight months ago, we were all grateful for the convenience of clicking our phones or a mouse to join a meeting, or class, or services. We showed up on time! We were curious to discover how to decorate our backgrounds with filters for a little excitement! We wholeheartedly laughed at the jokes about dressing from the waist up or only tidying-up around the peripheral vision of our cameras.
Now, it takes a little more of an effort to even click “join a meeting” or search for the “Facebook” and “YouTube” live posts. The thrill is gone! We are tired! We want our lives back…
Don’t lose faith! We CAN do this!
“O Come All Ye Faithful” has been credited to several composers and writers from as early as the mid-1600s to as late as 1841. It took several attributes to compile this beautiful carol. The origins AND the lyrics of this song echo the message of keeping the faith!
Hope is waiting on the other side of your push to keep going! Just stay faithful to your Heavenly Father, your family and your commitments to your community.
Here are a few of my favorites of “O Come All Ye Faithful”.
Which one do you enjoy most? It only takes a second to let me know!
Enjoy and Merry Christmas!
CARRIE UNDERWOOD – This song doesn’t need any ornamentation to make it beautiful and Carrie Underwood renders a wonderful performance!
MARY MARY – This rendition of “O Come All Ye Faithful is a unique treasure”! Careful not to dance… (too late)!
NAT KING COLE – The smooth vocals of Nat King Cole are a standard for the song.
TAKE 6 – Once again, Take 6 steals the show with their harmonies!
